OBITUARIES Ben  "B" E. Whitesell 

    GIBSONVILLE — Mr. Ben  "B" E. Whitesell , 82, of 318 Apple Street, Gibsonville, died at the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Burlington on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 after three years of declining health.

    A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Ben  Ernest Whitesell  Sr. and Mamie Terry Whitesell . He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired after 40 years from Cone Mills as a supervisor. He was a member of Gibsonville Christian Church and served in many ways to help the church.

    Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Nancy W. Fogleman and husband, Dennis, of Whitsett; a son, Mr. Richard E. Whitesell  of Gibsonville; a brother, Mr. Fred L. Whitesell  of Gibsonville; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Linda Carol Gulley; a brother, Mr. Harvey "Buck" Whitesell ; and a sister, Mrs. Rita Chrismon.

    The funeral will be conducted at Gibsonville Christian Church on Friday, October 28, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. by the Rev. Hobert Isley, and the Rev. Alan Kent. Burial will follow the service in Gibsonville City Cemetery.
    The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 p.m. today, October 27, 2005, and at other times they will be at the residence of the daughter, Nancy Fogleman, 508-A, N.C. 100, Whitsett, N.C.
    The family would like to extend their gratitude to Hospice for the special care given to Mr. Whitesell .
    Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
