Ms. Essie Greeson Ward, 88, of Burlington, NC, died at her home surrounded by loved ones, February 15, 2018.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Bud and Molly Greeson. She was married to Ben Whitesell for 18 years, the father of her three children.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Nancy W. Fogleman and husband Dennis of Whitsett; a son, Mr. Richard E. Whitesell of Burlington; a brother, Mr. Grady Greeson of Whitsett; seven grandchildren, Michael Cox , Todd Cox, Danny Fogleman, Sherry Marshburn, Terri Roberson, Lisa Qualls, and Brandon Whitesell; 17 great-grandchildren, Avery Cox, Jeremy Cox, Courtney Gantos, CJ Jewell, Kendall Storey, Dylan Fogleman, Buddy Marshburn, Thad Marshburn, Michael Stevens, Jason Stevens, Keely Roberson, Seth Roberson, Carol Qualls, Rainey Qualls, Brandi Whitesell, Melanie Whitesell, and Alex Fox; and five great-great-grandchildren, Tanner Moss, Mason Gantos, Kinley Cox, McKenzi Gantos, and Wolf Marshburn.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Linda Carol Gulley and brothers, Fred, Buddy, James and Delmer Greeson.
A graveside service will be conducted at the Gibsonville Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2018.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington from 6 until 8 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018, and at other times they will be at the residence of the daughter, Nancy Fogleman, 508-A NC 100, Whitsett, NC.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Hospice for the special care given to Ms. Ward. 3, Essie Greeson Ward
