GIBSONVILLE — Mr. Larry Webster Whitesell, 71, of 705 Broad Street, Gibsonville, died at his residence on Tuesday, October 14, 2008.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Barbara T. Whitesell, who survives, and the son of Robert F. Whitesell and Dora McPherson Whitesell, both deceased. He retired from AT&T and was a member of St. Mark’s Church.
In addition to his wife of Elon, survivors include his son, Gary Whitesell and wife, Sharon, of Burlington; his daughter, Angela W. Powell and husband, David, of Burlington; four grandchildren, Erika Whitesell, Jesse Whitesell, Ethan Powell and Noah Powell; and two sisters, Nancy W. Finley and Joan W. Barbee, both of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Eloise McPherson and Mary Doris King; and four brothers, Jacob, Robert, Carroll and Franklin.
The funeral will be conducted at St. Mark’s Church on Friday, October 17, 2008 at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Ben Bishop. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. Other times, they will be at the residence of Barbara Whitesell, 205 Ashley Trace, Elon.
