Doris Tew Moore
BURLINGTON — Doris Tew Moore , 91, of 2115 Hatchery Road, died Monday, April 4, 2005, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Raymond Faison Tew , and the late J.D. Moore . She was the daughter of the late Allie J. and Myrtle Conklin Hill. She was a retired clerk with Alamance County, and also worked as a volunteer in the Davis Street United Methodist Church office for many years.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Whitesell of Burlington; a son, Bill Tew of Burlington; grandchildren, Ray Tew , Cindy Tew , Gary Whitesell, and Angela Whitesell Powell; great-grandchildren, Paul Tew , John Tew , Charlie Tew , Erika Whitesell, Jesse Whitesell, Ethan Powell and Noah Powell; a sister, Cecile Price of Eden; a daughter-in-law, Josephine Tew of Burlington; a son-in-law, Larry Whitesell of Burlington; stepsons, Vernon, Douglas, Jackie, and Frankie Moore .
She was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Hill.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Davis Street United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jerry Dodson. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the residence of Barbara Whitesell, 3330 Garden Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
