Jacob Lynn "Butch" Whitesell
BURLINGTON —Mr. Jacob Lynn "Butch" Whitesell , 61, of 2520 Ferndale Drive, Burlington, died at his residence on Friday, January 5, 2007 at 1:55 a.m. following several years of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Janice Cheek Whitesell , who survives, and the son of the late Jacob Caleb Whitesell and Christine Isley Whitesell , who survives. He was the owner of Whitesell Draperies. He was a member of St. Mark’s Reformed Church, the Alamance Rotary Club, and the Alamance Country Club.
In addition to the wife of the home and mother of Mebane, survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Janie Covington and husband, Nelson, of Wilson; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Beverly W. Brown and husband, Joel, of Burlington and Mrs. Beth W. Cook and husband, John, of Mebane; and three brothers, Mr. Bob Whitesell and wife, Bonnie, of Goldsboro, Mr. Bill Whitesell and wife, Sandy, of Atlanta, Ga., and Mr. Barry Whitesell of Charlotte.
The funeral will be conducted at St. Mark’s Reformed Church on Sunday, January 7, 2007 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Ben Bishop. Burial will follow in St. Mark’s Reformed Church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church to lie in state from 1:30 to 2 p.m.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening.
