MEBANE — Mary Christine Isley Whitesell, 88, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. Ms. Whitesell was born July 29, 1920 in Alamance County to the late Joseph Hubert Isley and Viola Murray Isley. Christine was a homemaker raising six children. She grew up at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and was of the Lutheran faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Beth Whitesell Cook and her husband John of Mebane, and Beverly Brown and her husband Joel of Burlington; three sons, Bobby Whitesell and his wife Bonnie of Goldsboro, Billy Whitesell and his wife Sandy of Roswell, Ga, and Barry Whitesell of Albemarle, NC; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Janice Whitesell of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jacob "Butch" Whitesell; a brother, Bud Isley; a sister, Ruth Teague.
A private funeral service will be held on Monday, March 2, 2009.
