Mrs. Doris Riley Whitesell

BURLINGTON — Mrs. Doris Riley Whitesell, 73, of Burlington died at 4:13 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002 at Moses Cone Hospital after six months of failing health.

A native of Orange County, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Samuel Riley and the late Burlie Crawford Riley.

She was married to Mr. Worth R. Whitesell.

She was retired from AT&T.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Reformed Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Alamance Genealogy Society and the Alamance Historical Society.

Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are daughters, Ms. Cheryl Rhyne Whitesell of Chapel Hill, Mrs. Jennifer Whitesell Condrey and husband, James Kyle, of Clemmons and brother, Mr. Dwight Riley of Carrolton, Ga.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Mrs. Wilma Bryant and Mrs. Hazel Christopher; and brothers, Mr. Winfred Riley, Mr. Leary Samuel Riley, Mr. Paul Riley and Mr. Wade Riley.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mark’s Reformed Church Cemetery by the Rev. Ben Bishop, associate pastor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.3, Mrs. Doris Riley Whitesell
