Mary Ruth Whitesell Mansfield
OPP, Ala. — Mary Ruth Whitesell Mansfield, 82, of 216 W. Hart Ave. and formerly of Burlington, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at Mizell Memorial Hospital following several years of declining health.
A homemaker and native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Abner C. (A.C.) Mansfield and daughter of William Whitesell and Lizzie Mcintyre Whitesell Gerringer, both deceased.
Survivors include two sons, Alan Christian (Chris) Mansfield of Opp, Ala., and Steven (Steve) David Mansfield of Pensacola, Fla.; granddaughter, Corey Elizabeth Mansfield of Santa Fe, N.M.; as well as a niece and several nephews in the Burlington area.
Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, John W. Whitesell and David E. Whitesell; and sisters, Frances W. Fender and Betty W. Faucette.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s chosen charity.
