Mrs. Rena Whitesell  Brumble
    BURLINGTON — Mrs. Rena Whitesell  Brumble, 77, of 1020 Plaid Street, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 5, 2004, at her home after a lengthy illness.
    She was the wife of Winfield "W.H." Hancock Brumble Jr. for over 58 years and a native of Alamance County. She was the daughter of the late Everette Lee and Emma Small Whitesell .
    Rena  retired from Annedeen Hosiery. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Elon and a member of the Wesleyan Sunday school class. She was a former Sunday school teacher and member of the Chancel Adult Choir, presently she sang with the Believers Senior Choir. Rena  felt called to care for those who were sick and shut-in for many years. She enjoyed painting woodcrafts in her spare time.
    Survivors include her husband, Winfield "W.H." Hancock Brumble Jr. of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ann and Gene Wall of Burlington; sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Anita Brumble of Greenville, North Carolina; Dennis and Sandra Brumble of Columbia, South Carolina and Mike and Lee Ann Brumble of Burlington; grandchildren, Brian Brumble, Kimberly Brumble, Allison Brumble, Jason Wall, Stuart Wall and Justin Brumble; sisters, Nadean Solomon of Burlington and Peggy Shaw of Liberty.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Lydia Whitesell ; and a brother, Newman Whitesell .
    The funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Elon by the Rev. Terry Huffines, and assisted by the Rev. Kristin Lassiter. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., and at other times at the residence.
    Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Elon, P.O. Box 923, Elon, N.C. 27244 or Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
