Winfield “W.H.” Brumble, Jr.

BURLINGTON, N.C. – Winfield “W.H.” Hancock Brumble, Jr., 99, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the Hospice Home. He was born April 1, 1919 in Dillon, SC to the late Winfield H. Brumble, Sr. and the late Bessie Tucker Brumble and was married to the late Rena Whitesell Brumble for 58 years. W.H. served in the US Army during WW II and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Elon, a member and past President of The Methodist Men and Men’s Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Burlington Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge and the American Legion. He worked for Kayser-Roth for many years and then retired from Annedeen Hosiery. He enjoyed life and was always glad to see you and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his daughter, Jo Ann (Gene) Wall; sons, Keith (Anita) Brumble, Dennis (Sandra) Brumble, Mike (Lee Ann) Brumble; grandchildren, Jason (Donna) Wall, Kimberly (Mike) Vanhoose, Stuart (Vickie) Wall, Brian Brumble and fiancée Emily Venable, Justin Brumble and fiancée Amanda Parleir, Allison Brumble; great grandchildren, Andrew Brumble and Paige Wall. He is also survived by his second wife and family Ruth Brown Brumble; step children, Bill “Butch” Brown and Jean Allred; 4 step grandchildren, 6 step great grandchildren and 1 step great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, parents, sisters, Beatrice Gibbs, Margaret Lee, Doris Chapman, Edna Louise Brumble, Carro Powell, Thelma Johnson, Bessie Virginia Brumble ; brothers, Douglas Brumble, Horace Brumble and Walker Brumble; a great grandchild Austin Brumble and a step son Steve Brown.
The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church of Graham by Rev. Kevin Baker. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. and at other times at the home of his daughter.
