Wilton “Dick” Hunt
ELON — Wilton “Dick” Hunt, 79, died Thursday, June 19, 2003, at the Hospice Home.
He was a native of Alamance County and the son of the late William Hobert Hunt and the late Annie Jewel Whitesell Hunt.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years Mildred Haithcock Hunt. Dick owned and operated a masonry construction business until his retirement. He served in the US Army during WW II with General George S. Patton’s Third Army. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and gardener taking great pride in his tomatoes. Dick was also a devoted family man.
Survivors include his wife of the home, sons and daughters-in-law, Larry W. and Sharon Hunt of Whitsett and Michael L. and Elizabeth Hunt of Graham; grandchildren, Jeffrey S. Hunt, David M. Hunt and Taylor E. Hunt; great-grandchildren, Jordan G. Hunt, Courtney B. Hunt, Hayley A. Hunt, Asher D. Hunt, Autumn P. Hunt and Rainey N. Hunt; sister, Marie H. Haithcock of Burlington.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2003 at 3:00 PM at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 2:45 PM on Sunday at the Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory prior to the service and at other times the family will be at the home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215. 3, Wilton “Dick” Hunt
