Mildred “Millie” Haithcock Hunt
ELON — Mildred “Millie” Haithcock Hunt, 89, of Elon, died on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born in Alamance County to the late John Wesley and Minnie Lee Hobby Haithcock and was married to the late Wilton Hobert “Dick” Hunt. Millie enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. She was a homemaker and a member of First Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by her sons, Larry W. Hunt and his wife Sharon of Whitsett, Michael L. Hunt of Graham and his fiancée Lisa Mooneyham; grandchildren, David and Taylor Hunt; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Hayley, Autumn, Courtney, Asher Dean, and Rainey Hunt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandson, Jeff Hunt; six brothers; and seven sisters.
The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Pine Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Dale Bailey. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 Friday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215. You may sign the online register book at
