MEBANE — Mrs. Georgia Kernodle Carmichael, 70, of 5612 U.S. 70, died Monday, March 31, 2008, at Duke Hospice in Hillsborough. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Wilson Carmichael of the home; grandchildren, Jamie and Jenna Carmichael of the home; daughters, Carol Crabtree, Brenda Abbott and husband, Bruce, all of Mebane and Mary Franklin and husband, Edward, of Prospect Hill; sons, Don Carmichael and wife, Sheila and Jim Carmichael, all of Mebane; nine grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; sisters, Mildred K. Carmichael and Annie Lee Moore, both of Mebane; and a brother, Howard Kernodle of Mebane.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Artis Kernodle and Daisy Pickett Kernodle; and a brother, Melvin Kernodle.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2008, at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane by the Rev. James L. Florence. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, and at other times they will be at the residence.
