Jack Junius Whitesell, 87, of Mint Hill, NC passed away at Matthews Medical Center, Matthews, NC on Friday, July 15, 2022.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Jo Ann Brannock Whitesell, who survives and the son of George Junius Whitesell and Hattie Whitfield Whitesell, both deceased.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a draftsman and engineer at Land Design.
In addition to his wife of their home, survivors include a daughter, Jan Lynnette Whitesell of Charlotte; son, Jeffrey Sneed Whitesell of Charlotte; sisters-in-law, Eva Sneed, Peggy Cooper, and Janie Whitesell; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Whitesell, Harold Whitesell, and Bobby Whitesell; sister, Willa Grey McQueen; and mother-in-law, Mamie Brannock.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. by Rev. David Franks with the family receiving friends from 1:45 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to W. D. Hammer VFW Post 2972, 432 Boonwood-Timbergate Drive, Gibsonville, NC 27249. 261, Mr Jack Junius Whitesell
