GRAHAM - Mrs. Ruth Dare Modlin Whitesell, 94, of Graham, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Ashton Place in McLeansville.
The family will receive friends and family Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 12:30 to 2:30 PM at the Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Graham.
A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM in Graham Memorial Park. Officiating will be her grandson, Chad Wimbish.

Mrs. Ruth Dare Modlin Whitesell, 94, of Graham, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Ashton Place in McLeansville.
Mrs. Whitesell was the daughter of the late Ernest Modlin and the late Mattie Forbis Modlin. She was also preceded in death by her step-mother, Callie Foust Modlin.
Mrs. Whitesell was a member of the First Baptist Church of Graham and attended Friendship Adult Day Services.
Mrs. Whitesell is survived by her children; Sandra Wimbish and husband Tommy, Ann Rogers and husband John, Charles “Buddy” Whitesell and wife Karen, Terry Whitesell and wife Becky, Tony Whitesell and wife Sherron; her grandchildren; Michelle Gindlesperger, Chad Wimbish and wife Jennifer, Guy Brantley, Christina and Catherine Whitesell and husband Jason, Casey Shotwell and husband Chris, Kelley and Cari Whitesell; great-grandchildren; Levi and Holton Shotwell, Owen, Stephen, and Clara Wimbish, and Katelin Gindlesperger; two step-granddaughters; two step-great-granddaughters; her twin sister, Ruby Preston; and special family friend, Denise Harris.
In addition to her parents and stepmother, Mrs. Whitesell was preceded in death by a daughter, Lola Gail Whitesell; sisters, Mabel Wrenn and Thelma Bright; and brothers, Ed Modlin and Colonel Modlin.
The family will receive friends and family Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 12:30 to 2:30 PM at the Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Graham.
