Carolyn Anderson Patterson
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Carolyn Anderson Patterson, 77, of 703 Heather Road, Burlington, died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 12:26 p.m. following a brief illness.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Charlie Tyson Patterson, who survives, and the daughter of William Lloyd Anderson and Fannie Clapp Anderson, both deceased.
She was a former employee of Western Electric and was a child care provider for many years. Mrs. Patterson was a member of the First Reformed United Church of Christ where she was a member of the choir and Fesperman Sunday School Class. She also assisted with the nursery at the church. Carolyn was a member of the Couples Club in the St. Mark’s Community.
In addition to her husband of the home, survivors include two daughters, Linda Carolyn Patterson and Kimberly Dianne Patterson, both of the home; one son, Gary Michael Patterson and wife Becky of Greensboro; one stepgranddaughter, Amber Brown; and two sisters, Frances Johnson of Greensboro and Janet Schiffelbian of Long Island, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by her son, Lonnie Tyson Patterson; her daughter, Karen Denise Patterson; and her sister, Grace Thompson.
The funeral service will be conducted at the First Reformed United Church of Christ on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Phillip R. Myers. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence.
