Mr. Dean Everett Goins, Jr. 84, died Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
Dean was born August 24, 1926 in Dunn, North Carolina to the late Dean Everett Goins, Sr. and Sarah Dovie Yount Goins.
He retired from Proctor and Gamble/Vicks after 45 years of service. Dean was a member of Trinity Evangelical Covenant Church where he had served in various church activities.
He was preceded in death by his wife Edith Overman Goins, a son Curtis Whitesell, grandson Carlton Joseph Whitesell, Jr., brothers Alvin and John Goins and sisters Mary Ruth Valentine and a baby sister.
He is survived by his 5 children, a brother, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, two nieces and one nephew.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 3, 2011, at Trinity Evangelical Covenant Church. Burial followed at Guilford Memorial Park. 470, Dean Everett Goins, Jr
