BURLINGTON — Patricia Butler Whitesell, 77, died at the Hospice Home in Burlington on Friday, March 6, 2015, at 1 a.m.
A native of Guilford County she was the wife of the late Sherman McKinley Whitesell and the daughter of James Bryan Butler and Ethel Hamilton Butler, both deceased. She worked as a legal secretary for Western Electric and Lucent Technologies. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Patricia is survived by a son, Mitchell Dean Whitesell (Lisa Thrift) of Burlington; a grandson, Justin Todd Whitesell; two sisters, Sue Willet and Sarah Berrier; two brothers, Butch Butler and Wally Butler; and special friends, Pat Tucker, Debbie Wooten, Virgie Bruner, Mandy Frissell, and Linda and Rick Roberts.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, Mark Whitesell; a daughter, Debbie Whitesell; and a sister, Becky Ring.
A funeral service will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church on Monday,
March 9, 2015, at 11 a.m. by Pastor Kevin Smith. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Burlington on Sunday, March 8, 2015, from 4 until 6 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance–Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
