Penny Trogdon Haynes
Mrs. Penny Trogdon Haynes, age 59, of Elon, went to her everlasting home Saturday, August 1, 2020 surrounded by her family.
Penny’s humble, gentle soul knew no stranger. She greeted everyone with kindness and love. Her gentle manner and loving patience, truly made her one of a kind.
It would be wrong to say she lost her battle to cancer because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken she stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like.
Penny was a native of Alamance County, the loving wife of Clifford David Haynes and the daughter of the late Fred Trogdon and the late Mildred Whitesell Trogdon.
Penny was a manager for Huffman Oil Company for over 18 years and was a former member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, David, of the home, Penny is survived by two daughters, Candi Sutton and husband, Chris, of Burlington, Kristi Clayton and husband, Ethen, of Mebane; a son, David Haynes and wife, Amanda, of Graham; 11 grandchildren and a brother, Marshall Trogdon, of Gibsonville.
The family will arrive at Rich and Thompson Funeral Service in Burlington at 11:00, Wednesday, August 5, 2020. They will remain at the funeral home until leaving for the cemetery at 1:30 PM.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Alamance Memorial Park.
