Ruby Heath Loy

GIBSONVILLE – Ruby Alleine Heath Loy, 90, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was a native of Guilford County and the wife of the late Russell Barrett Loy.

Ruby was a homemaker and member of Friedens Lutheran Church and member of the Hite’s Sunday School Class. She taught Sunday School for many years and was involved in the Fellowship Committee. She enjoyed working at the Farmer’s Market in Greensboro and flower gardening and basket weaving. Ruby worked with her husband during his lifetime on their family farm. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren, great-grand children and great-greatgrandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Frances Loy of the home; sons, Jimmie Loy and wife, Kathryn, Edward Loy and wife, Lynne and Donny Loy and wife, Bonnie all of Gibsonville; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille Miles and husband, Robert Miles, Sr. of Gibsonville; brother, John W. Heath and wife, Marie of Gibsonville and a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Loy. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, William Stanford and Euna Blanch Whitesell Heath; son, Howard Loy; daughter, Patty Andrews and a granddaughter, Christy Loy.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice for their compassionate care for their mother.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at Friedens Lutheran Church on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 3 p.m. by Rev. Bill Zima. The family will receive friends from 1:45 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. at the church prior to the service and other times at the home of Edward and Lynne Loy. The burial will follow in the church cemetery and the family will receive friends following the committal in the church fellowship hall.
