Dewey “D.L.” Fogleman
WHITSETT — Mr. Dewey Lewis “D.L” Fogleman, age 85, of NC Hwy 61, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2015, at Select Medical Hospital after several months of failing health.
A native of Guilford County, he was the son of the late Clinton D. Fogleman and the late Esther Moser Fogleman and was married to the late Mary Louise Whitesell Fogleman, who passed in 1998. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, was the retired owner of D.L. Fogleman Trucking and was a former member of Low’s Lutheran Church. Dewey had a special love for his horses. He especially enjoyed going on trail rides, wagon trains, riding in various parades and participating in the Mule Days in Benson, NC and also the Thrasher Reunion in Denton, NC.
Mr. Fogleman is survived by his brother, Frank (Donna) Fogleman of Henderson, NC; four sisters, Juanita Wicker of Whitsett, Mildred (Jim) Risley of Florida, Kay (Bobby) Foster and Becky Rumley, all of Gibsonville; special niece and God child, Jennifer Fogleman Hamby; special aunt, Mabel Barner; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; two brothers, C.D. Fogleman Jr. and James “Jimmy” Fogleman and two sisters, Blanche Norwood Gentry and Gladys Davenport Turner.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Bruce Church. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday evening and other times at the home of his sister, Kay Foster, 605 Burke St., Gibsonville.
