Charles Vernon Freeman

 Charles Vernon Freeman, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 10, 2022 at his home. A native of Alamance County, he was born December 17, 1937 to the late Leonard Samuel and Ruth Bell Nash Freeman and was the husband of 65 years to Mary Jane Ross Freeman of the home.

   Charles was a member of Lighthouse Bible Church. He owned C.V. Freeman Trucking Company and was a member of the Alamance-Caswell Hunting Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing for catfish at Roanoke Rapids.  Charles was a loving husband, father and PawPaw and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

   He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; daughters, Doris Ann Summers (Randy), Julie Miller (Jeff); grandchildren, Amber Summers Hudson (Keith) and children, Omar, Tripp and ZoieAnn; Dusty Summers (Erin) and children, Jack and Luke; Dakota Summers (Michelle) and daughter, Lennon;
Joshua Miller (Lori) and daughter, Jameson and Justin Miller (Jess) and children, Xander, Bryson, Beau and River;
sister, Betty Ham and sister-in-law, Shirley Freeman. 

   He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Sam (Mary Ruth), Bobby, Jimmy (Mildred), Eddie (Brenda) and Jerline; brother-in-law, Danny Ham and his beloved pet, “Little Bit”.

   A service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00pm on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Lighthouse Bible Church by Pastor Josh House with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the daughter, Julie’s home.
