Edith Beckom Moore
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Edith Beckom Moore, 88, of 575 N.C. 87 North, Burlington, died at White Oak Manor on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 6:03 p.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Gilbert Moore, who survives, and the daughter of Clarence E. Beckom and Esther Baldwin Beckom, both deceased.
She retired from Barbee Fabrics. Mrs. Moore was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and a lifetime member of the Women of the Church.
In addition to her husband of the home, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Iris Moore Holt and husband, Jerry, of Burlington, and Mrs. Gail Moore Fishman and husband, Fred, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a son, Mr. Gilbert Lee Moore Jr. and wife, Shelby, of Middleburg, N.C.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Beckom; and a sister, Louise B. Pickett.
The funeral service will be conducted at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Powell Sykes and Dr. Tommy Richardson. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service, Burlington on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m., and at other times they will be at the residence.
