James Calvin Keatts


    BURLINGTON — James Calvin Keatts, 74, of Moran Street in Burlington, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2009, at UNC Hospitals after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Fort Mill, S.C., to the late John Ambres Keatts and Mazelle Walker Keatts, who survives. He was a member of the Teamsters and was also a Mason.
    Other than his mother, survivors include his daughter, Angela K. Wallace and husband, Fred, of Elon; grandchildren, Bryan Wallace and Lauren Wallace; sisters, Patricia Ann Owens, Barbara Buckner, Myrtie Wrenn and husband, Curtis, and Rachel Durham and husband, Bill; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
    The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 17, 2009, at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the home of Angela Wallace, 3471 Stoney Creek Church Road in Elon.
