BURLINGTON, N.C. — Ellen Walker Keatts, age 97, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 27, 2011 at Twin Lakes Health Care Center. She was a native of York, South Carolina and the wife of the late John Ambres Keatts.
Ellen was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Owens of Greensboro, Myrtie Wrenn and her husband Curtis of Elon and Rachel Durham and her husband Bill of Burlington; eight grandchildren, Kevin Lassiter of Greensboro, Susan Dunn of Charlotte, Curtis Frederick Wrenn Jr. of Elon, Janet Bates of Burlington, Andrea Swinson of Elon, Angela Wallace of Elon, Pam Buckner of Graham and Robin Bonvillain of Burlington; eight greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ambres Keatts; parents, Lonnie Calvin Walker and Annie Denton Walker; son, James Calvin Keatts; daughter, Barbara Keatts Buckner; brothers, Glen, Grady, Virgil and Odell Walker.
A service to celebrate her life will be conducted on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dave Gilbert and assisted by the Rev. John Burton and the burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
