William "Bill" Henry Vines, Sr., also known by his friends as "Squirrel" age 79, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2012. He was a native of Lowe, West Virginia and the son of the late Willie Vines and Evelyn Morrison Vines Siner.
Bill retired after over 30 years with Western Electric/Lucent. He was a member of CWA and a supporter of the CWA Athletics. Bill was a former Boy Scout leader sharing his love for wildlife and the outdoors. He enjoyed woodworking especially carving ducks and fishing in his spare time. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Survivors include his children, William "Henry" Vines, Jr. and his wife, Donna of Snow Camp, Loretta White and her husband, Joe of Pikesville, Maryland, William "Henry" Vines, Jr. and his wife, Donna of Snow Camp, Tony James Vines, Sr. and his wife, Ellen of Burlington and Floyd Eugene Vines of Reidsville; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-0ne great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Flossie Brown Vines a grandson, William Henry Vines, III and his parents and step father, Charlie Siner.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Pine Hill Cemetery by Pastor Kenny Black. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm on Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of his son, William Henry Vines, Jr. in Snow Camp..
