    BURLINGTON — Flossie Brown Vines passed away Monday, January 17, 2011, at her daughter’s home.
    She was born October 18, 1933 in Ashland, W.Va. to the late James Walter and Della Farmer Brown. Flossie was an active member of Northside BaptistChurch,theRuthsSunday School Class, the Missions Group, GA and Sunday School teacher. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels and the National Federation of the Blind of Maryland.
    Survivors include her children, Henry Vines Jr. and wife Donna of Snow Camp, Loretta White and husband Joe of Pikesville, Md., Tony Vines Sr. and wife Ellen of Burlington, Floyd Vines of Reidsville; 15 grandchildren; and 18 greatgrandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Gladys Freeman, Nora Hensley, Pauline Brown; a brother, Garland Brown; and a grandson, William Vines.
    The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Bruce Brown. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
    The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times at her home.
