John Buck Gerringer
BURLINGTON — Mr. John Buck Gerringer, 88, of Burlington died at Twin Lakes Retirement Center on Friday, November 19, 2010.
A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of the late May Isley Gerringer and the son of Thomas M. Gerringer and Annie Andrews Gerringer, both deceased. He worked for many years at Tire Sales and retired from Elon T.V. Sales and Service as owner. Mr. Gerringer was a member of Shallow Ford Christian Church where he served on the Finance Committee and on the Board of Trustees.
Survivors include three nieces, Rachel Hawker, Marie Cardwell and Gloria Smith.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Caesar Gerringer and Charlie Gerringer; and one sister, Vannie Gerringer Brown.
The funeral service will be conducted at Shallow Ford Christian Church on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Dr. S. Perry. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Shallow Ford Christian Church on Sunday from 1:15 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to the Eastern N.C. Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, 400 Oberlin Road, Suite 220, Raleigh, N.C. 27605.
