MARGARET SUSAN KNIGHT ROBINSON GERRINGER
Margaret Susan Knight Robinson Gerringer, 93, of Friends Homes Guilford, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, at New Garden Friends Meeting, 801 New Garden Road, Greensboro. Interment will follow in the New Garden Cemetery. Margaret was a native of Guilford County, born June 28, 1908, to Gurney and Martha Knight. Margaret was a buyer for Efirds Department store in Greensboro and retired from Sears Roebuck after 19 years of service. She was a member of New Garden Friends Meeting where she taught the 2-year old First Day School for many years. Margaret was also a member of the Guilford College Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. Margaret's steadfast strength and her deep love for God were shown in many ways. She continually looked for simple ways to brighten the lives of those in need and those she loved. Her inner light shines in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
Her parents, Gurney Knight and Martha Jones Knight, husbands, Granville C. Robinson Sr. and Hugh L. Gerringer; brothers, Wilson Knight and Leslie Knight; and sister, Elsie Hanner preceded Margaret in death. Surviving are son Granville C. Robinson Jr. and wife, Sherree of Greensboro; granddaughter, Cathy and husband, Mark Poe; great-grandchildren, Joshua and Holly Cooper; sisters, Henrietta Mitchell, Ora Stafford, Ethel Robinson, Elizabeth Nelson; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at Forbis & Dick Guilford Chapel, 5926 W. Friendly Ave. and other times, at 1707 Fleming Road.
