Mrs. J. B. Gerringer Dies
     News has been received of the death of Mrs. J. B. Gerringer, who died at 1:30 this afternoon at her home near Elon College. Mrs. Gerringer is the mother of Mrs. J. J. Isley, of Trollinger street. Funeral arrangements have not been announced.

Mrs. J. B. Gerringer Buried Sunday At Shallow Ford
     Beloved Woman Widely Connected In County; Floral Tribute Attested Love and Respect.
     Funeral service for Mrs. J. B. Gerringer, 77, beloved citizen of Alamance county whose death occurred Saturday at her home, was conducted at Shallow Ford Christian church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
     Mrs. Gerringer had been in 111 health for some time, although it was thought that her condition was considerably improved. She had but recently spent several weeks visiting her daughter and son, Mrs. J. J. Isley and Montford Gerringer, in this city.
     The service was in charge of the pastor; Rev. T. J. Green, assisted by Rev. Enoch. Kite, of Gibsonville; Dr. J. U. Newman, Dr. J. O. Atkinson and Dr. L. E. Smith, of Elon College; Rev. Eck Brown, of this city. A quartet composed of Walter Crabtree, E. N. Pierce, E. J. Heatwole and M. Z. Rhodes sang during the service.
     Happily married for 57 years, and spending her lifetime in this community. Mrs. Gerringer is survived by her husband, four sons and five daughters, as follows; Rev. C. E., Wakefield, Va.; Jack and Montford, of this city; and Thurman, of Elon College; Mesdames George Danieley, J. J. Isley and A. Rudd, of this city; Mrs. Clarence Cable, Elon College, and Mrs. R. P. Boone, of Greensboro, also many grandchildren.
     Active pallbearers were: Floyd Brown, Egbert Truitt, Arthur Waynick, H. P. Tickle, W. D. Wagoner and J. R. Shepherd; and honorary T. B. DeLoache, J. D. Patton, O. B. Pitts, J. G. Pritchett, C. C. Garrison, Wade H. Huffman, W. V. Copeland, W. L. Carter, T. W. Cheek, Aleck Davis, H. J. Stockard. E. A. Hensley, J. B. Vaughn and L. G. Garvin.
     The numerous flowers were carried by Misses Florine Robertson, Dorothy Gerringer, Mary Archer Strickland, Florence Cable, Vivian and Ruby Gerringer; Mesdames J. C. Huffines, Ernest Kennedy, Leonard Saunders, Erma Young, Max Riddle, Giles Longest, James Coleman, Jack Beckom, Leslie Hackney and Pearl Strickland; Messrs. Raymond, Hugh and Leo Gerringer; Harold Faucette, Henry, Jesse and Buck Danieley; J. B. Boone, Kyle and Wilson Cable, and Horton Rudd.
