Mr. John Willie Wall Jr.
GIBSONVILLE — Mr. John Willie Wall Jr., 79, of 527 W. Main St., died at 12:30
a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at Beacon Place in Greensboro after two months
of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Violet Childers
Wall, and the son of the late John Willie Wall Sr. and Ava Shoe Wall. He was
retired from Cone Mills and was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during World
War II and a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a
member of the First Baptist Church of Gibsonville, where he was a former
Sunday school teacher and a choir member. He was also a Royal
Ambassadors Leader.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Kay Wall Gee and husband, Bill, of
Gibsonville and Ms. Renee Wall Clayton of Chapel Hill; a son, Mr. Steve Wall
and wife, Jo Ann, of Gibsonville; a sister, Mrs. Wanda Waller of Burlington; a
brother, Mr. Howard Wall of Greensboro; three grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Blackwood; and a brother, Jack
Wall.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of
Gibsonville by the Rev. Brian Ayers. Burial will be in Gibsonville City Cemetery.
The family will be at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8
this evening, and at other times at the residence of a daughter, Kay Gee, 1005
Lashley Park Drive, Gibsonville.
Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500
