VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Sandra K. Riley Babcock , 54, left this world peacefully on Monday, May 14, 2007, surrounded by her beloved friends and family. Sandra was born and raised in Burlington, N.C., before moving to Virginia Beach. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Joy B. Riley.
She is survived by her sister forever, Pamela G. Durham. Sandra is also survived by her son, John Babcock ; Bob Bradford, her beloved and life partner; his mother Shirley Bradford. Her favorite and only nephew, James Scott Durham, his children, Michael, Joseph, Christina, Ryan and his wife, YoungJu, will miss her love. Her devoted Ya Ya Sisters, Marie, Diane, LaDonna and Deb will miss her loving, caring, and fun personality.
Miss Sassy will miss Sandra . Sandra will be truly missed by her multitude of friends and business associates. Sandra was employed as Administrator by Tidewater Builder’s Association for 25 years. Sandra was active with the Alzheimer’s Association and in lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. The family would like to thank Bayside Hospital and Riverside ICU-3 staff for their loving care. Sandra’s generous spirit will live within all who knew her. Sandra will continue to give of herself through her Life Net gift. We love you.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 17, at 2 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Southside Chapel by Pastor Fran Cooper, with a reception following the service.
