Benjamin Binnis “Uncle Ben” Troxler
GIBSONVILLE, NC — Benjamin Binnis “Uncle Ben” Troxler, 93, of
6011 Hwy NC 61 N., died Sunday, August 25 2002 at the Hospice
Home after several years of declining health ending with a critical
illness of two months.
A lifetime resident of Guilford Co. he was the son of the late William
Henry Troxler and the late Sallie Amanda Roney Troxler and was
married to Mrs. Myrtle Loy Troxler, who survives, for over 67 years. He
was a retired farmer and painter. Mr. Troxler was a member of
Friedens Lutheran Church where he was a member of the Regina
Cobb Bible Class and served on the Property Committee and the
Church Council along with acting as a Communion and Baptismal
Assistant and serving as a member of the Alter-Guild for over 20 years.
Mr. Troxler was also a former member of the Keenagers Club.
Survivors include Mrs. Myrtle Loy Troxler, wife of the home, along with
several nieces, nephews and close friends. Mr. Troxler is preceded in
death by his parents along with two sisters, Ms. Emily Mae Troxler and
Mrs. Virginia Creasy, and three brothers, George William Troxler, John
Wesley Troxler, and Walter Edward Troxler.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 27,
2002 at Friedens Lutheran Church by the Rev. Kristina Johnson and
Rev. Raymond Petrea. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday evening at the
church and at other times at the home. Lowe Funeral Home and
Crematory is serving the Troxler family.
