Mrs. Flora Shepherd Gerringer
Mrs. Flora Shepherd Gerringer, 79, of Route 4, died at 12:35 noon Saturday in a Greensboro hospital following two weeks of critical illness.
Final rites were held this afternoon at Shallowford Christian Church, and burial was in the church cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev. J. L. Norris, pastor of Macedonia Lutheran Church, and Rev. Kenneth Register, pastor of Union Ridge Christian Church.
Mrs. Gerringer was the wife of the late John H. Gerringer, who died in 1914. She was born in Guilford county, the daughter of the late Soloman and Temple Smith Shepherd.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Waymon Moore, Route 4. Burlington, and Mrs. Lacy Rudd, Route 2. Elon College; four sons, Wayne Gerringer of Graham, Freeman Gerringer and Paul Gerringer of Route 4, Burlington, and Giles Gerringer of Route 6, Burlington; two step- daughters, Mrs. L. M. Crouse of Route 4, Burlington, and Mrs. R. B. Hensley of Route 2, Elon College; two brothers. Giles Shepherd and Tom Shepherd, both of Burlington; one step-son, Hurley Gerringer of Route 4, New Bern; seven grandchildren, one great grandchild and 21 step grand-children. 3, Mrs. Flora Shepherd Gerringer
