BURLINGTON  - John  Freenan Gerringer, 64  of  Rt. 4, died Thursday in a Burlington hospital after one month illness. He was a member of member of Shallowford United Church of Christ and a native of Alamance County.
For 25 years he was a knitter for McEwen Hosiery Mill, and at the time of his death was the owner and operator of Freeman's Service Station and Grocery on Rt. 4. Burlington. Funeral will be 4 p.m. today at Ossippee Baptist Church. The body is at Lowe Funeral Home.
Survivors are widow, Mrs. Ollie Simpson Gerringer; daughter, Mrs. Austin Cook of Rt. 4, Burlington; sisters, Mrs. L T. Rudd of Rt. 1, Elon College, and Mrs. W. R. Moore  of Rt. 4, Burlington, brothers, Paul Gerringer of Rt. 4 and Gyles Gerringer of Burlington; half sister, Mrs. R B. Hensley of Rt. 2, Elon College; half  brother, Hurley Gerringer of New Bern. 470, John Freeman Gerringer
