Frances Virginia Glosson Sharpe
 

 BURLINGTON — Frances Virginia Glosson Sharpe, 95, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 3, 2014.
 
 She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of the late Dover Caudle Sharpe who passed away in 2011.
 
 Frances was the owner and operator of Sharpe Beauty Shop for many years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and she sang with a church trio. Frances enjoyed painting landscapes in oil and taking cake baking classes over the years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother.
 
 She is survived by her daughters, Vivian Kernodle and husband Wayne of Burlington, Geraldine Modlin of Haw River and Ann Finch and husband Wilton of Burlington; son, Dover Sharpe Jr. and wife Ellen of Kernersville; grandchildren, Kellie (Jimmy) Whitaker, Billy Modlin, Dawn (Bobby) Grant, Debbie Modlin, Al (Robin) Mann, Len (Karen) Mann, Belinda (Roger) Lloyd, Marlana (Sean) Kirk and Mara (Jared) Davis; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great- grandchildren; sister, Sadie Elizabeth Poe of Tennessee; a brother, Samuel Richard Glosson and wife Thelma of Graham; and her special family friend, Lisa Langley.
 
 She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, John Willis and Novella Elizabeth
 
Tate Glosson; grandson, Kenneth Kernodle;
 
and greatgranddaughter, Megan Riggins; and a great-great- grandson, Will Riggins; son-in-law, Frankie Modlin; and her siblings, Mary Jane Farrell, Thomas Luther Glosson, John Willis Glosson Jr., James Donald Glosson and William Cecil Glosson.
 
 The family would like to thank her caregivers, Dot Pratt, Shirley Rudd and Rose Henderson as well as the nurses and staff of Alamance House for the wonderful care of their mother.
 
 A service to celebrate her life will be conducted Friday, June 6, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. Ernest Beck Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
 
 The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
