Jaynee Greeson Brown
March 7, 1932 — June 22, 2025
McLeansville

Jaynee Elizabeth Greeson Brown, 93, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at Moses Cone Hospital after a brief illness.

A native of Guilford County, she was born March 7, 1932 to the late Ira Clifton and Cosie Neese Greeson.

She was the wife of 59 years to the late Charles Burton Brown.

Jaynee was a lifetime member of Mt. Hope United Church of Christ where she served as a Sunday School teacher, Youth Group leader, was a member of the church choir, Women's Circle and Garden Club. Her true passion was evident in the way she served others throughout her entire life, keeping children in her home and taking care of the elderly and sick. She was a selfless caregiver to so many throughout her whole life. Jaynee spread her love and compassion through her cooking, delivering wonderful dishes to all those in need. In later years, she continued to minister to people through phone calls, cards and notes. She had a knack for making everyone feel special just because they were around her and will be remembered for her kindness, wit, entertaining stories and love of people. She will be missed beyond words.

Her greatest joy was her family which includes a daughter Cindy Brown Hughes and husband, Joe of Greensboro; grandchildren, Michael Hughes and wife Kim of Littleton, CO; Jason Hughes and wife Brooke, and Alex Hughes of Greensboro; great grandchildren Sadie and Jacob Hughes. She is also survived by special nieces and nephews, all of which she loved as her own.

A special thank you to her dear friend and neighbor, Shelby Jean McClean, who has always taken such good care of her and to her caregivers at Bayada, Demetrius Miles and Teresa Adams.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings, Leland Greeson, Wilda Greeson, Keith Greeson and Connie Greeson.

A service to celebrate Jaynee's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 30, 2025 at Mt. Hope United Church of Christ with the Rev. Kristin Gerner Vaughn officiating with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 2:45 prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of Joe & Cindy.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Hope United Church of Christ, 2400 Mt. Hope Church Rd., Whitsett, NC 27377.
