Mildred Carroll Thompson Pharr
BURLINGTON - Mildred Carroll Thompson Pharr, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family. She was born in Halifax County to the late Charlie Lee and Fannie Elizabeth Dickens Carroll.
Mildred retired from Smith Draperies and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her daughters, Susie Coleman and her husband, Joe, and Janet Wagoner, both of Burlington; sons, William "Billy" Thompson and Jamie Pharr, both of the home, Alton Wayne Thompson and his wife, Kay, of Saxapahaw; ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Everett Pharr Sr., and her former husband, Johnny Washington Thompson; parents; sisters, Mable Munn and Annie Mae Buckner; brothers, Charlie Lee Carroll, Jr., Eugene Field Carroll, Charlie Macon Carroll, Robert Curtis Carroll and Raymond Lawrence Carroll.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at 4 p.m. at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Don Pegg and the burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:45 until 3:45 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
