FEBRUARY 24, 1942 ~ OCTOBER 4, 2015 (AGE 73)
William Earl “Billy” Thompson, 73, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 4, 2015, at the Hospice Home. He was born in Halifax County on February 24, 1942, to the late Johnny Washington Thompson and Mildred Carroll Pharr.
Billy was a member of Kinnett Memorial Baptist Church and was also a member of the NC Retreads Motorcycle Club.
Survivors include his daughters, Kimberly Starr Thompson and Waverly Dae Brady; grandchildren, William Murray and R.C. Murray; great-grandchildren, Logan Murray, Kathleen Murray and Olivia Murray; sisters, Susie T. Coleman and husband Joe and Janet
T. Wagoner and brothers, Alton Wayne Thompson and wife Kay and James Everett Pharr Jr. He is preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and three brothers.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Don Pegg. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home and other times at the daughter’s home at 405 Williamson St. in Burlington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kinnett Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund, 1106 E Morehead St., Burlington, NC 27215.
