Mrs. Pattie May Way, age 84 went home to Glory on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at her residence.
Born in Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Charles Goodman May, Sr. and the late Hazel Louise Tickle May and was married to the late Clancy Way, who passed in 1999. She retired from Cone Mills and was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she served as the secretary and church pianist for many years. Pattie was a Bible teacher and public devotional speaker her entire life. She trusted lives were transformed through her God-given talents that she used to glorify her Savior.
Mrs. May is survived by her granddaughter, Angela Holt and husband, Paul, of Kentucky; great grandchildren, Hannah and Sarah; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Aborat Kirkman; nephew, Dale (Crystal) May; niece, Drema Dawn (Moley) Medaris; and great nephews, Taylor and Alex. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; her children, Hope Lynette Kinley Rodney and Darrell Duane Kirkman; and a brother, Rev. Charles Goodman May, Jr.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church by Rev. Ernest Beck and Rev. Boyd Pickard. Interment will follow at Midway Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be from 12:00 – 12:45 PM Tuesday prior to the service at the church.
