He was the Pastor of Briggs Memorial Baptist Church, during the 1950's. The Little one room style Church that sat beside the Midway Cemetery. We lived near there on Keeley Rd when I was abt 8-10 years old. The families who lived near the church were: The Kinleys,Kellams,Howertons,Thompsons,Snows, Browns, Simpsons, Stewarts. Some were members of Midway...My mother was the Treasurer for the church for a while. Those were truly the good old days. Mrs Howerton was my SS teacher and played the piano, along with the pastors daughter Patty Sue. We had to pull curtains to have privacy during sunday school..I did my dating there on Sunday nights, as teenagers used to do. The 1940-1950's was a great period to grow up. Rev.
