Elder Donald Edward Smith
 
 BURLINGTON — Elder Donald Edward Smith, 82, of 729 Engleman Avenue, died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, at 8:15 a.m.
 
 A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of 62 years to Elizabeth “Lib” Anderson Smith, who survives and the son of James Harvey Smith and Alice Rudd Smith, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Burlington Industries. Donald served as Elder of Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Ruffin, NC (Caswell County) and Wheelers Primitive Baptist Church, Roxboro, NC (Person County).
 
 In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include several nephews and nieces.
 
 He was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Smith Scott and Nellie Smith Deiner; two infant sisters; and two brothers, James Elmer Smith and Elder Wallis Art Smith.
 
 The funeral service will be conducted in the Rich &Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at 2 p.m. by Elder Larry Hollandsworth. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
 
 The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence.
