Elizabeth “Lib” Anderson Smith, of Burlington, NC, was born on Christmas Day, December 25,1932 and passed away on her 93rd birthday, December 25, 2025 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of 62 years to the late Elder Donald Edward Smith and the daughter of Dallas Malone Anderson, Marion Walker Anderson, and Edith Anderson, all deceased.
Lib earned her business degree at the Women’s College and later worked at Burlington Industries. She was a member of Cross Roads Presbyterian Church where she once played the piano.
Survivors include two sisters, Ida Anderson of Burlington and Sarah Jane Wrightenberry and husband Ron of Burlington; a niece, Deborah Deiner of Burlington; and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Malone “Bub” Anderson.
A graveside service will be conducted at Pine Hill Cemetery on Monday, December 29, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. by Pastor Dan Ficklin.
