Burlington - Catherine Chatman Madren, 72, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. A native of Alamance County, she was born September 12, 1948 to the late Ollie Odell and Jessie Mae Harvey Chatman and was the wife of 52 years to Albert Lee Madren of the home.
Catherine was a longtime member of Union Ridge Church and retired from Gold Toe Hosiery. She enjoyed the outdoors, cooking and vacationing in the mountains. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband, Albert; daughter, Tammy Richardson and husband William; grandchildren, Michael Shane Richardson, Preston Richardson; four great grandchildren; brothers, Ed Stanley (Faye), Chris Chatman (Susan); sister, Larue Long and numerous nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Union Ridge Church by her niece, Ms. Logan Bailey with the burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:15pm – 1:50pm prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
