Albert Lee Madren

January 27, 1950 ~ September 6, 2021 (age 71)

Albert Lee Madren, 71, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 6, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.  A native of Alamance County, he was born January 27, 1950 to the late Almond Agusta and Esther Rose Tate Madren and was the husband of 52 years to the late Catherine Chatman Madren.
     Albert was a longtime member of Union Ridge Church. He and his brother, Wayne, owned and operated Madren Brothers Farms, farming tobacco in the Pleasant Grove community. Albert was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
     Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Richardson and husband William; grandchildren, Michael Shane Richardson, Preston Richardson; four great grandchildren; brother, Wayne Madren (Sharon “Kitty”); sister, Elizabeth Cobb and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife Catherine, parents and a sister, Mary Melton.
     A service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Union Ridge Church by Rev. Dan Ficklin with the burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends 12:10-12:50pm prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Ridge Church, 115 Altamahaw Union Ridge Rd., Burlington, NC 27217.
