 MEBANE — Mrs. Peggy J. Summers, 81, died at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill on Thursday, June 23, 2016.
 
 A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Leon Summers, who survives, and the daughter of Ernest Turner and Ruth May Turner, both deceased. She was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church where she was formerly employed in the daycare.
 
 In addition to her husband of the home, survivors include a son, Bobby Summers and wife Andrea of Haw River; daughter, Joannie S. Wilson and husband Jay of Mebane; four grandchildren, Jean Howell and husband Matt, Richie Mullis and wife Beth, Emily Vermeer and husband Jon and Jesse Summers and wife Sarah; two great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Sam Howell; and sister, Ethel Sumner of Burlington.
 
 She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruthie Elliott.
 
 The funeral service will be conducted at Hebron United Methodist Church on Sunday, June 26, 2016, at 5 p.m. by the Rev. Bryan Sexton with the family receiving friends from 4 to 5 p.m. in the church fellowship hall prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times they will be at the home of her daughter, Joannie Wilson, 2716 Mebane Oaks Road, Mebane, NC.
 
 Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Memorial Processing Center, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216.
