GRAHAM - Mrs. Dorothy Shepherd Sizemore, at the age of 85, has gone home to be with her heavenly Father.
Mrs. Sizemore was the wife of the late Joseph L. "Bud" Sizemore Jr. and daughter of the late George William Shepherd Sr. and Ada Alberta Michael Shepherd.
Dot was born and raised in Alamance County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Graham, NC, and was also a Graham Square Miler. Dot had a passion for gardening, her home was always filled with flowers and life. Family and friends were the delight of her heart and she found joy in giving to all who were in need. Dot was a wonderful cook and hostess. All who left her home left with a full belly and a full heart. She was the guiding light of the family, the glue that held us all together. Beautiful from the inside out, now shining for the glory of God on into eternity.
Surviving are two daughters, Ms. Donna Sizemore of Greensboro and Ms. Debbie Sizemore of Mebane; son, Joseph L. "Joe" Sizemore III of Snow Camp; sister, Betty Shepherd Futrell and husband Jeep of Graham; brother, Bud Shepherd of Burlington; four grandchildren, Leslie Sizemore, Brooke Knoop, Joseph Sizemore IV, and Todd Phelps; nine great-grandchildren, Joey, Arianna, Skylar, Ty, Gavin, London, Nicholas, Noah and Judah.
She was preceded in death by a brother, George William Shepherd Jr.; and a sister, Mary Horry Hanford.
