RALEIGH William "Will" A. Apple, 41, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, May 6, 2016, after recently being diagnosed with cancer. A Celebration of His Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Forbis & Dick N. Elm Chapel on N. Elm Street. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM on Thursday preceding the service. Born on November 23, 1974, Will was the beloved son of Kent and Claudia "Corkie" Apple of Greensboro NC. He was a graduate of Grimsley High School where he played football and baseball for the Whirlies, and saxophone in the jazz band. He graduated in engineering from N.C. State University and was a proud member of the Sigma Pi Fraternity. Will worked as the Chief Technology Officer at Cisys Life Sciences in Raleigh, NC. Will loved life. He was always up for an adventure, and enjoyed every minute he got to spend with family, friends and especially the love of his life, Allison Martin. Together they loved to travel and enjoy sports especially the Carolina Hurricanes, N.C. State Wolfpack, Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Panthers. Will was a "foodie" who enjoyed creative cooking, wine and craft beers. He was always smiling and joking even through the toughest times -- including his recent terminal diagnosis. Will is preceded in death by his grandmothers Marguerite Huckabee and Maxine Huckabee. In addition to his parents and his partner, Allison Martin, the love of his life, he is survived by his grandfather John D. Huckabee, uncles Dan (Carol) Huckabee, David (Donna) Huckabee, Bill (Mary Lou) Heaner, Andrew (Mary Helen) Heaner, David (Anita) Heaner, Stroman (Linda) Heaner; cousins Robin Anderson and Erin Webb and many nephews and nieces. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Get Stuff Done 4 Kids at 9650 Strickland Road, Suite 103-131 Raleigh, NC 27615 or to a charity of your choice in Will's memory.
