 BLANCH - Jeffrey Thomas Rudd, age 57, passed away peacefully at his home in Blanch, NC, surrounded by family and loved ones on Monday, September 12, 2016, after a 14 month battle with cancer.
 
 Jeff was born on September 11, 1959, in Danville, VA to Eugene and Nancy (Mise) Rudd.
 
 He was the youngest of three children.
 
 He married Deborah (Lanier) Rudd on December 11, 1982 in Denton N.C.
 
 After graduating from North Carolina State University with a degree in Agriculture Education in 1982.
 
 He worked in Ag Sales and Advertising positions until 1991.
 
 He and Deborah lived in Rochester, NY area from 1985 til 1993. During that period, Jeff served as Pastor’s Assistant at Calvary Chapel of Rochester until April of 1993.
 
 After returning to NC, he worked as Caswell County Economic Developer from 1994 til 1999 and county manager from 1999 to 2001.
 
 He left public service in 2001.
 
 For the last 15 years, he worked in full time prison ministry as Director of Free in Christ Prison Ministries. Jeff had a true passion for loving and ministering to men who happened to be behind bars and their families.
 
 In addition to working with men at the Dan River Prison Work Farm and Caswell Correctional units, he and Deborah partnered with Forgiven Ministry’s One Day With God Camp in NC, Texas and MI.
 
 He was also privileged to serve as an Assistant Pastor at Calvary Chapel Cary since 2008.
 
 Jeff’s love was for the Lord and his family. He enjoyed reading and gardening. He also enjoyed friendly sports competitions and passed that enjoyment onto his kids.
 
 He is survived by his cherished wife of 33 years, Deborah; four children, Thomas (Nissa), Josh, Rachel and Lydia; two grandchildren Audrey and Emily; mother Nancy; brother Bruce; sister-inlaw, Cyndy; sister Phyllis (David) Mincy; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
 
 He is preceded in death by his father, Gene.
 
 There will be a private graveside service with Pastor Rodney Finch of Calvary Chapel Cary officiating.
 
 A memorial service will be held at Westwood Baptist Church, 970 Leasburg in Roxboro, NC, on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at 4 p.m. Pastor Geoff Brede of Calvary Chapel of Rochester, NY will be officiating.
 
 The service will be followed by a time to visit with the family.
 
 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Forgiven Ministry for the One Day with God Camps, P.O. Box 117, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
