Lloyd "Cricket" Duffey
Lloyd Clay “Cricket” Duffey peacefully passed away in his sleep on July 8th, 2024.
Born and raised in Haw River, he was the beloved son of Billie and Carol Duffey, who have both passed on.
Cricket was a devoted husband to Deborah “Debbie” Gilliam Duffey and a loving father to three daughters: Donna Coleman, Tracy Dollarhite, and Hope Parker. He was also a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Billy-Lee Coleman, Amber Dollarhite, Nataleigh, and Caroline Parker.
Cricket is survived by his brother, Charlie Duffey, and his nephew, Shane Duffey.
Cricket had a deep passion for music. He could often be found in his backyard, enjoying a cold beer and grilling, or in his workshop, building model cars—a hobby he cherished since childhood. An avid hunter and fisherman, Cricket also loved N.C. State basketball, Colts football, and just about every sport. He was a simple man, a joy to be around, and one of the best storytellers. His memory will live on through his close family and friends, who he considered family as well. Cricket will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 20, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with the family receiving friends following the service at the funeral home.
McClure Funeral Service in Graham is assisting the family.
